Description

Kaizen is a core fundamental practice of Lean methodologies. In Course 2 we discussed the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle as a method to manage a Lean improvement. A Kaizen Event facilitates a team through the PDCA problem-solving framework. It is pertinent to understand how to plan and facilitate a Kaizen Event that will result in beneficial outcomes for the organization and the customer. In Lean practice, Kaizen Events utilize multiple Lean tools to identify the root cause of a problem and validate a viable, sustainable solution in collaboration with multiple stakeholders/team members. A Kaizen Event is complete when the full PDCA cycle has concluded.
